Conflict Resolution in Speech and Debate

1 Hour Seminar
$300.00

When we asked former debaters what they wished had been better about their debate experience, one theme stood out.

I wish debate had been less toxic.

I could have supported my partner more.

I wish debate had modeled self-care and respect for people from other schools.

Make sure this is not the experience at your camp, for your team, for your students. Strengthen your team’s communication culture with CoLab’s unique conflict resolution curriculum.

Designed for both debate-only and full forensics programs, at either the high school or college level, these one‑hour sessions teach students how to slow the tempo, recognize conflict triggers, de‑escalate with intention, and develop ethical communication with partners, opponents, coaches and judges. Through warmups, debriefs, and practical coaching tools, students learn how to navigate tense moments with clarity and care.

CoLab’s approach to cooperation and conflict resolution is unique in being specially designed for participants in speech and debate, facilitating conflict resolution without sacrificing the rigor and healthy challenges of the activity. We unapologetically affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all participants and teach empirically proven best practices.
